I thought this book was... well, very well-written, and all of that good stuff. Unfortunately, I didn't read it through, I read it in about 3 sections, with a few hectic days of interruption in between.
However, I can say that my expectations were not disappointed, and that I really like the characters - they are not entirely likeable. I really loved this novel. I think this appreciation is due to the fact that I felt really connected to Ethan with his life and hardships. I found him completely endearing and also overwhelmingly sad. I feel slightly ambivalent about the ending. Although I'm usually annoyed by the typical "happy, fairy tale endings" I still felt that Ethan deserved his fariy tale. But I guess that's why I really love this novel because it feels sincere and REAL.
