Normally, when I like a novel I savor it, taking my time and thinking about the book. Not this one--I plowed through it in a day and a half and am still sorting it out.
This feels very Czech, and unlike anything I've read. There are some elements of magical realism, some characters that are not fleshed out (though plenty of flesh, sex and poop) and the element of time gets messed with, though all in a very well-thought-out way. This is the type of book where I feel a bit "dumb" while reading ... I know there are many depths I'm not even touching !
