Great novel about a logging family in Oregon, it's full of interesting characters, the good, the bad and the ugly.
It's a complicated story in parts, but Kesey seems to understand the complexities of the time and his people. There are characters to love and some you'd like to attach to a log and float down the river.
It's a difficult time to own a logging business, times are hard, strikes are taking place and there's work to get done. There's the threat of violence and those out for revenge.
