Robbe-Grillet was an amazing guy on many levels and his approach to fiction was endlessly fascinating. I read this book for a French lit class in college. Rereading it now was such a pleasure. I didn’t appreciate it at the age of 21 but this time I was almost trembling as the tension was wrenched higher and higher.
