What Members Thought
I would recommend it to anyone who likes to ponder the interconnected nature of the things that inhabit our planet and how they change and are changed by their interactions. Weisman weaves the past, present and potential futures of continents, people, and ecosystems into a compelling narrative that provokes contemplation of our daily choices and the trajectory of our industrialized society.
An interesting intellectual exercise, but not enough meat to fill a book. This was better as an article of a couple thousand words. After the six or seventh re-telling of the same premise (we screw up our environment... but we're a blip in history, and our environment recovers without us)... I got tired of hearing it.

If you've ever wondered what will happen when humans finally kill ourselves off, this is the book for you. Sounds depressing but is actually hopeful.
