Entertainment Weekly's best non-fiction book of 2007. Sounds really interesting and also sounds like a good book club choice.
Very interesting - I loved the specifics about what will happen to our cities. Look at this as a primer - each chapter could have its own book. Perfect for non-science types like me, since I actually "got it". ...more

I really liked this book's macro view, taking a step back to look at the big picture, over time. What happened to the Mayans???
Many of the apocalypse books I have read try to describe the earth after some great catastrophe; this book delves into the details, the chemistry, the likelihoods, the reality. Chernobyl. Mayans. Reefs untouched. Forests untouched! Africa? Farms!
