What Members Thought
It’s very rare that I chose not to finish a book once started, but ‘The Last Ship’ was so fundamentally boring, it just turned me off reading, so I ditched it after 100 pages.
Said first 100 pages is full of the extreme granular detail of the innerworkings of a battleship in the US Navy, replete with incomprehensible naming/ranking conventions. All very interesting I’m sure for aficionados or those with at least a passing interest in the Navy, but for the uninitiated it’s highly tedious.
