(Yes, that plot is reminiscent of The Hunger Games, but Battle Royale came first, and has a different feel to it.)

Shelves: post-apoc-dystopian, 5-star-reads

I'm giving it 5 stars for the brilliant idea and interesting plot. The characterizations are really well-done. The writing can be clunky at times, but I can't tell if this is actually the writing or just the translation? Several times I found myself thinking that a word choice was wrong. Anyway, giving that area the benefit of the doubt, this is a 5 star read for dystopia fans who don't mind YA. ...more
