A friend gave me this as a gift. I love the Penguin Classic reprints. They are so clever and if you really study the covers, they give you so many clues! This book doesn't need clues. That's not a bad thing.

I did the mistake of reading this on my mobile phone, and I think this is the kind of book where I'd like to have a good, if subconscious, grasp of where I am in the novel, and Kindle for Android is not the tool for that.
I think I'd give this a 3.5, if GR allowed for any kind of nuance. It's more of a document of the 80ies than any kind of future dystopia, dealing with alienation, cred and fear in a family setting. Despite being well written, and despite me normally liking ambiguous works, it d ...more
