I have to admit that the reason I picked this up was a blurb on the front cover. Stephen King says it's the best comic he's ever read. Who am I to argue, especially if I haven't read it myself. I really enjoyed this first volume!

I felt that much of it was trope and retread, but then I took a moment to look up the original run dates. Much of what I felt was unoriginal was because of Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead, Compendium 1. Funny how certain ideas and situations become old hat when so many ...more

A series I've heard about for years but never delved into - I'm happy I finally read it and sad I waited so long to do so. Perfectly paced, balancing humor, sympathy, and action, and brought to a natural conclusion rather than living a forced and diminished existence driven by crass consumerism, this should be an exemplar for artists to aspire to. ...more

_Y: The Last Man_ builds on an interesting premise about being the last man after a plague spontaneously kills off everything with a Y-chromosome. The story development and characters are solid and creatively illustrated. This was an enjoyable read that leaves me itching to read the next installment.
