I didn’t love this book but I liked it a lot and enjoyed it for the most part. Took me a bit longer than I thought it would. The comparisons to the The Stand and Swan Song is overrated. Those are at the top of their game end of world books and I don’t feel this one comes close. The only similarity is the length. In this case, too long. I give it 4 stars for 2 reasons...it is excessively long. It is like he is trying to Match the length and wordiness of King or McCammon. The second point is politics. Just because you are right wing, doesn't mean you are an evil racist white supremacist.
