This was a pretty good book and done fairly well as long as you think having a book filled with first-person encounters with zombies is a good idea. Which I don't. To be discussed at the Powells Beaverton SF group on Tuesday October 10th at 7pm.

I know this book has been well reviewed and it was recommended to me by quite a few people. While it wasn't terrible and I can see why a movie based on this book has been made ( I even see why Brad Pitt was cast) it left me cold. Because the story was told as " An oral history of the zombie war" all the events were in the past and already resolved. All the people interviewed were survivors and the war was over. The human race was in recovery mode so in other words , no suspense, no tension, just

LOVED this book. The infection begins in China and quickly spreads throughout the world. This book is written after the fact as a collection of interviews of people involved from all over the world. You learn about how the different countries respond to this national and international emergency (the US retreats to west of the Rockies, deserting enclaves of civilians and masses of undead). Very interesting take and seemed realistic except for the whole zombie thing:) This could be adult or young
