Entire novel is written in post-apocalyptic English dialect, which while initially challenging comes to provide some crazy insights and allows for some really wierd wordplay... awesome stuff

Shelves: scifi-future-speculative-fict, dystopian-apocalyptic, language-related

Set in a primitive future society and told in the imagined dialect of the time, involving malapropistic phoneticisms and accidental puns (and clearly an inspiration for one story of Mitchell's Cloud Atlas: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...), so not something you can read quickly - at least, not till you get used to it.

Wen Mr Clevver wuz Big Man uv Inland thay had evere thing clever. Thay had boats in the ayr & picters on the win & evere thing lyk that. Eusa wuz a noing man vere qwik he culd tern his han tu enne thing. He wuz werkin for Mr Clevver when thayr cum enemes aul roun & maykin Warr. Eusa sed tu Mr Clevver, Now wewl nead masheans uv Warr.
