It's been 19 years since I read The Odyssey and (sorry Mrs. Bix) I don't remember much. I really enjoyed Pen's journey, but wish I had studied in advance.

Weetzie Bat + Apocalypse + The Odyssey. Not sure how I feel about it...
I read this book and it ended with me sitting up saying, "WTF?" So an earthquake hits and teens develop super powers or the protagonist is batshit nuts. The way the story weaved in and out, I had no clue if there were real giants or what? It started reading like the Percy Jackson book-the first one- and it ended up kinda stupid and gross.
Left me with lots of why questions but I don't think there will be a sequel. ...more
