"EOTWAWKI-with magical Nora Roberts Style"

I admit it, I love dystopian stories and this one sucked me right in. I don't have many complaints but I have to wonder about the fates of some of the characters I came to love! I hope to find out in the next installment that they are still a part of the story. ...more

Nice to see Nora Roberts breaking out of her usual kinds of stories and into the post apocalyptic world. I'm definitely eager to see where she'll take these characters. ...more

An excellent start

I wish it weren't another ten months until the next book is published! A great end-of-the-world story from an unexpected author.

I got about a third of the way through. Too much graphic violence (especially against women) and surprisingly foul language. Also, the quality of the writing wasn't very good. Just not for me. ...more

Really 2.5 stars. I’d have given 3 if it didn’t end off on a cliffhanger... I hate when I don’t realize there will be a sequel to a book

This is basically the Hallmark movie version of The Stand 😒 It was okay but not very original at all, and the writing was kind of weak - very dialogue heavy and not very polished. I'll have to decide if it's worth continuing the series or not. ...more
