In my circle of friends 1984 qualifies as "One of Those Books Everyone Just Assumes You've Already Read," but somehow I must have missed out when everyone else was reading it in high school.
Well, seeing as this is the mother (or Brother?) of all dystopian novels, I'm glad I finally got around to it. I'm not sure I have anything to add that hasn't already been said, but this book is damn scary, and the future that Orwell predicted develops more accurately with each passing year. I read this ages ago and didn't love it but typical of me and popular books I didn't like in the past but revisit older- ui am doing it again but this time 1984. Curious how I will think decades later rereading this oldie. Edited to add the books I have reread and didn't like I didn't rereading the second time. But I am curious if what I remember of this book is how I will feel again
