What a weird beautiful little book. I don't think I understood all of it but maybe that's part of the point. The recursive aspects were truly inspired. I didn't love it as much as Androids but I'm looking forward to the TV series and more of his short stories.

I got this book because I watched the series on Amazon. Frankly, the TV series was much better than the book--and that's 180 degrees from normal. While the premise was the same--Japan and Germany won WWII, that's about all that was similar. The TV series had a great deal more drama. This is the only book I've ever read by Phillip K. Dick that was dull and lackluster. It gets two stars simply because it was at least readable, unlike some other books I've started and abandoned lately.
