I'm a teary, bleary-eyed mess, but its worth it.
I was so scared of The Fault In Our Stars. I'm not a reader that handles pain and angst very well. I tend to sob. And not the lovely, pain-filled weeping that you see in movies, but more like this gasping, wheezing, snot ridden sobbing.
(Sorry for that imagery, but its honest.)
See, when I read...I feel. I genuinely care about the characters, and their wins are my wins and their losses, the same.

Holy crap I cried more this time than I did all the other times I read it. This is my third reread of this amazing novel, and I cried so badly I actually threw up. Disgusting, I know. This book means so much to me, I can't even say. I have lost someone very close to cancer, and John Green is able to capture that anger, fear, all of the emotions you can't explain to people because there aren't any words for those feelings. I went into this book with very high expectations and they were very nearly all met. It's the sweetest, most real love story I've read in a long time. For most of the book, the Van Houton subplot bothered me, but everything was wrapped up at the end (not neatly, but that's fine). But now I find myself like Hazel, obsessed with the ending for the other characters. So, John Green be prepared for me to come knocking on your door one day to find out what happens to everyone else.
