Did I enjoy this book? I did enjoy this book, but not until I got through the first half of it. For me, the first half dragged a bit. Once I hit the second half, I had to read it every free chance I got. I finished the second half in a little more than a day, which is a short amount of time considering the holiday and being a stay-at-home mom.

I listened to Crossed on audio, performed by one female and a male narrator, reading from Cassia & Ky's viewpoints. In this disturbing travelogue, Cassia leaves The Society with hopes of secretly locating Ky in the outer Provinces, where he has been sent to die. It's all about the journey through the Carvings canyons, where Ky has escaped with two companions. Secrets abound, as do the metaphors, as Cassia also seeks to join the rebellious "Rising."
