The story:

Her journey brings her in touch with new people; people with stories that just a short while ago she would never have believed. The danger increases with every step she takes away from home; but, she knows she has to fight through those steps if she’ll ever truly be free.
Ky has been sent to the Outer Provinces; the place where Aberrations and Anomalies are sent to die. They’re used as decoys and no one ever survives long. Ky, of course, has something to live for, and he’s planning on surviving. No matter what it takes.

My thoughts:
Crossed is really good. I don’t think it is quite as good as Matched, but, it is still really good. It’s a fast paced book and it really kept me interested! Ky’s point of view is included too, which I adore! It was nice to see things from both of their points of view.
I love the world that Ally Condie has created, it’s so incredibly unique. Most dystopian worlds have the flaws blaringly obvious. The world is so dark that all you can think about is how horrible it is. In these books the Society it makes you wonder if anything is worth giving up freedom for; because, if it is, the Society offers it. It gets in your head and makes you question why you feel how you feel; I spent many an hour wondering if I would be brave enough to be a rebel, to put freedom above all. Or, would I comply for the benefits and predictability the Society can offer.
Ky and Cassia are the sweetest couple. I know, there is a “love triangle” aspect to the book, but I don’t understand it. There is no question of who the girl is meant for. The romance in this isn’t cheesy, too intense, whiny, needy, or obnoxious as many YA romances tend to be; it’s sweet and simple, it does honor to the two involved in it.
A lot of new characters come in. They all have such unique stories and personalities; it really makes reading the book a joy. It keeps you interested because you want to find out every detail of their live. Especially, the ones who grew up on the wrong the side of the society, the ones who tales make you see the flaws.

Love has different shades. Like the way I loved Cassia when I thought she'd never love me. The way I loved her on the Hill. The way I love her now that she came into the canyon for me. It's different. Deeper. I thought I loved her and wanted her before, but as I walk through the canyon together I realise this could be more than a new shade. A whole new colour.
