When she is matched with her best friend she’s sure the Society knows best, but through a series of unfortunate(or, very fortunate) events she realizes maybe she is the only one who can truly knows what is best for her. And, maybe love is not something that can predicted; maybe nothing can actually be predicted.

My thoughts:
I love this story. It’s a very different take on the ever so popular dystopian genre! It’s not action packed like most, and it’s much deeper and more emotional. The writing is fantastic! This is one of those books you just want to crawl inside of and never leave!
Cassia is probably the most easy to relate to character of any book I’ve ever read. She’s so very real. She has such a hunger for life, which she is just discovering in this book! She loves very deeply and has a rebellious streak, which the Society finds fascinating. Ky is awesome, and I won’t write more about him to keep from gushing. Xander is a good, solid character, as are most of the people who appear in the book for even only a minute! Every character has a distinct personality, which gives the book a lot of depth!
One of the major things in the Society is the fact that there are only 100 songs, 100 stories, 100 poems, and 100 paintings. I personally find that completely horrifying. It limits the creativity of the people, as well as the emotions that these things create in us. Poetry becomes a major part of the story; especially the poem Do not go Gentle into that Good Night by Dylan Thomas, which gives the book yet another layer to adore.
A fantastic book that I would highly recommend to anyone! Let me leave you with this “Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”

I absolutely LOVED this book (wish I could say the same about the second book in this trilogy CROSSED)
It was such an amazing book I just can't get my head around it... it was so beautiful and the plot was so good ugh I can't even speak..
this book will most likely always be on my favourite shelf for my favourite books, I loved it so much.
