Matched follows Cassia a young girl living in a society that is very controlled. In the beginning Cassia thinks she lives in the perfect society. Cassia's society is one under strict government control. Cassia is matched to a long childhood friend and the match seems to be what is meant to be. Until Cassia find out there is also another match one that was not suppose to be in the pool. This of course peeks her curiosity about this other boy. It sucked me in!! I had to download the next one immediately. It's nice to have another dystopian trilogy without as much violence so I can recommend it to my 5th and 6th graders. ...more

This book had me from the first few pages. Unlike other YA dystopias this one is a love story. I like that it is not being obnoxious about it, it's kind of romantic.
The world of this book is scary. They way to develop a good life and health for everyone includes perfect food intake, recording of everyone's dreams and actions, and the total removal of choice, whether job, mate, food or activity. This is terrifying.

I loved this book! I saw it at B&N and it looked so different on the shelf. I picked it up and read the back, that was when I couldn't stop thinking about it! I bought it and with in 3 days, I finsished it. I also recommened the sequal, Crossed. I hope y'all try it out! :) ...more

This book reminded me of the Hunger Games in that everything in their society is controlled. Interesting plot, too. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

the story's kinda slow, at some part of the book i got bored but as soon as i finished the book i kinda get excited for the next book. like, what happened to Ky? to Cassia? will they end up being together and how about Xander? so yea, im reading the next book. :) ...more
