Wow, just... WOW! I don't even know where to begin. This is such a good book, and it's scary to think that our world can turn into something like this where literally every aspect of your life is chosen for you. I loved EVERY character! It's hard to root in a love triangle book when both sides are awesome... but I still root for ky anytime! OMG I can't wait to pick up the next book and see where this story continues. Definitely a must read for distopian lovers :)

The more Cassia learns of her society and government t

It sucked me in!! I had to download the next one immediately. It's nice to have another dystopian trilogy without as much violence so I can recommend it to my 5th and 6th graders.

Like many reviewers here, the gorgeous cover pulled me in. I've had quite a few students say they kind of, sort of liked the book but that it was slow. Still, I had to read it.
Personally, I enjoyed the book very much. The Society fascinated me and the energy and spirit of Cassia inspired me as well. The concept of choices and being led to believe that your life is ideal when you don't have to make them is curious. How many times have we all felt that way when we were overwhelmed and exasperate ...more
