Overall, this was a book that kept me wanting to continue reading. Personally, I am not a fan of poetry, so I found myself skimming over the many references and passages with poetry in them and even some of the more longwinded descriptions to get to the plot of the story, but that is a personal preference. It was a very different ending from what I'd expected, given that this is YA fiction. The most interesting aspect of the book was watching the characters realize that the Rising was not all they'd imagined it to be. My biggest complaint about this whole series is the authenticity of the characters' voices. I have a really hard time believing that any 16-year old could write as expressively and articulately as the narrators in this series, especially given their Society upbringing and education. ...more

Okay. If you know anything about me from my other reviews, you know that I sometimes enjoy chick lit. This is one of those stories that I really liked but still can't figure out why.
This was a very well written ending to the trilogy. I'm not typically a fan of switching viewpoints, but I thought Ally Condie did it quite masterfully. It was interesting to get into everyone's head.

Sad to see this series end I loved it, I loved how Ally Condie incorporated art and poetry into a stunning story. I am looking forward to future reads.
