Whew! Finally. A real live fiction novel. Not a biography, not a memoir, not a "how-to" book - but a real, honest-to-goodness who done it piece of fiction. I haven't read one of these in a looooooong time. And so far, one of hte better novels I've read in a long time.

I listened to the audiobook version - fantastic job to the voice actors, esp. Amy's voice - so I feel that my impression of the book was greatly influenced by listening to it rather than reading it on paper. As far as I can tell, t ...more

415 pages in 5 days. Gone Girl is a real page-turner. I haven't read a book that fast since I was a kid who had ample free time in her days for pleasure-reading. I could not put this book down no matter how hard I tried. The cliff-hangers at the end of each chapter kept me scrambling back as soon as I tried to put it down because I was just dying to find out what the next twist in the story was. This book was ridiculously addicting. Once I got to page 100 I had to stay up all night and finish it. It is such a twisted crazy book but also has some fairly sane commentaries on real life (loved the part about Cool Girl). I would have given this a 5 if the ending had been more satisfying or even made sense...

This book was thrilling and compelling, and had me thinking about it when I wasn't reading it. It put me in a dark mood while I read it and will keep me thinking about it long after I am finished. The disturbing characters kept me wondering the entire book.

I wasn't sure how to take the end, but I think thats for the best. I can't wait to see this as a movie. ...more
