Shannon Dermott has done a great job on her first novel. This was a fun read. What made it compelling for me was the different personalities of the guys pursuing Mercy: Bad boy Flynn, sweet and soulful Luke, boy next door Paul, and dangerous demon Sebastian. Because Mercy is part succubus demon, she tends to make some bad decisions that makes it more complicated and difficult for her to decide whom she should be with. This was the first series I read that focused on Succubus/Incubus/Cambion. I really enjoyed it and all the different characters and what they were. I thought the idea of Mercy having so many potential suitors fit the idea of her being a Succubus and this story inparticular more so than some stories where the main character has multiple love interests.

First I'd like to say that I really enjoyed this book. It kept my attention the entire time and it was difficult putting it down. It explored new aspects of a familiar genre and Mercy, the main character, was involved in a very atypical love triangle, more like a pentagon really... Once I started, I couldn't stop. Great book. It’s heart-stopping, exciting and every page leaves you needing more. If I could give this book a million stars I would. This book is not to be missed out on. A must-read that I will read over and over again!

I really enjoyed reading Beg for Mercy.. Shannon Dermott you really did a great job.. I was intrigued by the cover and well i wanted to know the story.

Mercy was a bit annoying and always whining about she is not a beauty or why she cant do this or that.

I have to say this book was so amazing I don't think I can put it into the right words. I loved everything about this book from beginning to end. The author has a way with words that just made this book flow so seamlessly and at the perfect pace. I flew through this book and actually stayed up late at night to finish it because I couldn't put it down. I loved the characters and got so attached to them that I didn't want to let them go. The concept of teenagers having to deal with all that they h I have to say this book was so amazing I don't think I can put it into the right words. I flew through this book and actually stayed up late at night to finish it because I couldn't put it down. I loved the characters and got so attached to them that I didn't want to let them go. The concept of teenagers having to deal with all that they had going on was a huge plus for this book as it created so much action and suspense.

I loved the character of Mercy. She had to grow up so quickly as a teenager and didn't get to enjoy all the normal things that kids her age were doing. Mercy had to keep a huge secret about what she was and boy was it a major one. I have to say I don't think I have read many books about succubus that were told from a teens point of view. This just made it more unique because the author showcased all the teen emotions and issues through Mercy in such a great way.The author knows how to write a story and craft it into perfection.

I have to say I loved Paul,Flynn, Luke,and Sebastian in this story. I wanted them all to be with Mercy for completely different reasons. I loved that Paul was one of Mercy's best friends and knew her better than anyone and has always been there for her. I loved that Luke was such a gentleman and would do anything for Mercy. Oh my where do I begin with Flynn. I guess I really am a sucker for the bad boy and boy was Flynn one. I liked that Mercy brought out a better side of him though and he was able to let loose and be himself more. Sebastian was just cool on a whole other level and I loved him and Mercy together too. Mercy will have some tough choices ahead of herself and I loved that the author was able to sell me on all of these guys. I tend to not love triangles but this one is more than that and I could truly see Mercy with any of them.

Overall I loved everything about this book and can't wait to read the next one. I can see this series getting better and better as there is so much potential there for it. The characters are ones you love and some are ones you love to hate. The author crafted them so well and endeared them all to me that I need more of them in my life like right now. I am so glad the author sent me the next one in the series and I bought the novella too and can't wait to get to them. I highly recommend you to drop everything and read this series like now because you will not be disappointed.

I loved this book. No, really, I loved it. Beg for Mercy by Shannon Dermott is not only a breath of fresh air in its originality, but I’m pretty sure I enjoyed all of the characters in the book. I read it in just a few hours, which goes to show how much I enjoyed it. Beg for Mercy centers around a 16-year-old succubus who doesn’t know the extent of her own powers. Her Mother has pretty much kept her in line by telling her if she ever gets involved with a guy she’d kill them.

Which granted is probably true with human boys, but they aren’t the only boys out there. Kidding…well not really, but it’s not like I’m advocating sexing up nonhuman boys. Anyway, so Mercy is sort of a outsider. Not really uncool, but not in the ‘it’ crowd either until her best friend Maggie starts dating Brent and Mercy starts dating Luke, two of the school’s senior football players.

I really enjoyed the interactions between the high school kids and their friends and family. For the most part it was realistic and I like that. I like that I can go through the chapters and see the character development in Mercy, Flynn and Luke. There are obviously other man characters, but for some reason these are the three that resonate most with me.

I am of course Team Flynn for the win! I absolutely loved him from the first second he was introduced while they were playing spin the bottle at that party. Yes he’s a jackass, and the first few chapters you pretty much just want to slap his cocky face, but then you actually get to know the real Flynn. The one he doesn’t show to everyone and he’s actually a really good guy.

Mercy doesn’t treat him as well as I think she should, but I totally get why, so it’s okay for now. One of the best parts of the book was when she found out her Mom was dating Flynn’s Dad. That was epic and I totally called it. Another great thing about this book is there isn’t just one kind of supernatural being, there are a dozen different kinds and the first book just scratches the surface of Mercy and her succubus background.

I don’t want to spoil too much of the actual plot, but I will say there are two things that kept me from giving this book a five star rating. While the plot was awesome and the characters were well written and very relatable, I didn’t like how guys all of a sudden flocked to Mercy when it was made clear in the beginning of the book that she hadn’t been noticed often.

I also wasn’t crazy about how ashamed people made Mercy feel for being a succubus. I wish they had encouraged her to be slightly more like Flynn and embrace what she is. Flynn obviously is the way he is for survival, but I think if she gained a little more confidence she wouldn’t be so down on herself. A succubus is a sexual creature by nature, there shouldn’t be a reason she should feel guilt about the urges that come from who she is.

Other than those two minor things, I think this might be one of the best stories I read lately and I’ve already added the Waiting for Mercy, No Mercy and Angel of Mercy to my reading list. I can’t wait to get through the entire series. If paranormal romance is your thing definitely check out Beg for Mercy. ...more

There may have been some things I would have done differently if I were Mercy but of course that's always the same in every book but with this knowing her predicament meant feeling more sympathy towards her. This book is yummalicious! It is probably one of my favorite books in a series that I can read over and over! Lets just say I am very happy that in this series I not only have one book boyfriend i have 4, yes and I do mean it. Flynn, luke, sebastian and we can't forget Paul. These men are all different but share one thing in common they all have a love and attraction to the main character Mercy. (she is a lucky woman) :)

This book reminded me of The Mortal Instrument series. If you liked that series you will surely love the Cambion series. The first quarter of the book was a little slow and it felt like I was reading a book about a hormone raging teen. But as the book went on it really got very interesting.
