What Members Thought
Man...I really wanted to like this book. Given the premise, it sounded great...there were so many years between Dune and Messiah I was really expecting something terrific. So much good subject matter to till. Not so. The writing was painfully bland, the characters incredibly one dimensional, the dialogue stiff and robotic. Paul somehow becomes more of a villain than Baron Harkonnen, and I never thought that'd be possible. The one saving grace to this whole mess are the flashbacks to Paul's youth
