Re-read review

Even though I have read Cinder before and know what's going to happen and the big revelations within the book I still sped through this like it was a first experience for me which really annoyed me because I wanted to take it at a more slower pace so that I could read possible bits I might have glossed over the first time. It has definitely ruined books based upon Cinderella for me especially as most tend to have Cinderella as a weakling. I love the toughened Cinder in this book, ...more

Cinder is a cyborg, part human part android, as well as New Beijing’s renowned mechanic. One day, Prince Kai, the Emperor’s son shows up at her booth, asking her to fix an android named Nainsi. He jokingly calls it a “a matter of security” but Cinder is suspicious. As the yearly ball comes close, Letumosis, a plague called “the blue fever” is spreading more and when it comes in contact with someone, it is fact that they will die quickly. My thoughts about the book:

Cinder! Oh my gosh! This was an amazing book. I loved how it incorporated the original fairytale really well, and the writing was wonderful. The setting was very well played out, and you had a very vivid picture in your head. The cover is so wonderful; that is what made me pick up the book. I am growing on sci-fi; I used to not read sci-fi that much, but now that I’m getting into it I really enjoy it. The first 100 pages confuse you JUST a little bit (it could go into more detail about hovers and stuff like that), but other than that it was totally worth reading. Marissa Meyer has captured me as her fan with her enthralling writing, and she will lure me in to read the next book she writes. Woah I've got nothing but praise for this book. I admit i was reluctant to read it because I didn't really want a story about robots. But this book went waaaay beyond my expectations.
The story was always captivating. Some plot twist i didn't expect others... well (view spoiler).

I honestly loved everything. The politics, the culture, Cinder, Kai, well everyone really.

I absolutly hated this book the first time I started reading it. I couldn't get into the story at all. The second time I started I almost finished it in one sitting. This book was so good. I loved Kai his playful side, I liked the doctor, I hated the mother so I felt what the book wanted me to feel. And I almost never feel for so many characters in a book so this is great. I really enjoyed this book! I really wasn’t sure if I would, and I was hesitant to get into another series, but I am glad I did! Cinder is an awesome character! I loved this fairytale retelling and I will definitely continue the series as soon as possible because I need to know what happens next!
