Short Review:
Well, this book was very long! Longest book so far for me in 2015.
I loved the first 200 pages or so, but then it dragged and was a bit boring. I wanted more action, but instead it was more just talking and "falling in love" stuff going on.
The last 100 pages or so made up for that thou so i'll give it 4 stars.
I will be reading book 2, mainly because it's a different person's POV :) ...more

I really enjoyed this book! Such a different world even though there's only a bit of fantasy. A majority of this book is more of the historical fiction type which I'm not used to, but regardless I loved it. I admire the way this novel was written, especially the dialogue between characters and how they speak. Definitely puts you in the setting and time. The element of mystery was great as well.
I love Ismae's transition in beliefs as a character. She starts out as this young lad ...more
