When she is thirteen years old, Ismae is sent to a convent filled with nuns who serve their god Mortain aka Death. She is sent there to avoid a marriage to the old and cruel man her father sold her to.
Ismae becomes an assassin and at 17 she is sent on her first major assignment. She is forced to pretend to be the mistre

Ismae had a hard start in life. When she was an infant her mother try to have an abortion with poison, but the baby lived, having only some ugly scars in her back, that make all the village to think she is the death's daughter. And they are right ;)

I think its one of the best historical books I've ever read! I never even thought of buying it till I read a review by a friend here in Goodreads (*thanks Jona, if you are reading this*) and this book did not disappoint me at all.

Grave Mercy just wasn't for me it would seem even though most other people who read it seemed to have really liked it it just wasn't for me. It's a shame because I loved the beginning where the MC was training to be an assassin, if the rest of the book continued with her learning the assassin ways then it probably have been alright but alas it didn't. My attention started to go when she is sent off to the high court where suddenly it's like everybody has forgotten she is an assassin and instead
