I finished it! I thought I wouldn't be able to but I did it!

Before reading Shatter Me, I've read, seen, watched a lot of positive reviews about the trilogy. There were so many of them that I felt like I was missing out on good stuff. Especially Warner, he was popular and I wanted to know him, I wanted to know what the hype was about. So I add it to my tbr pile and for so long, I just stare at it, wondering what is it about.

I can't belive my eyes when I touch this perfect cover. But, when the protagonist is on the cover, it's too hard for me to imagine him (or her) in my mind :(
Shatter Me was a great book! Juliette's feeling was so intense, and Kenji was the salt and the pepper of this lovely book. Tahereh Mafi is an incredible talent, and a litttle 24-ages genius who knows 8 languages.
Adam was so cuuute, but i think it's a little to... cute :)) I mean, all time he was a little too soft around Juliette.

Wow thumbs up for Tahereh Mafi on her debut. This is brilliantly and excellently written; the characters are perfectly made, Juliette Ferrars, Warner and Adam Kent. A heroine, a hero, an antagonist with a heart and an oozing romance, this book has it all!

The last series I read with a dystopic theme was the Hunger games, but of course I couldn't compare this book to it. I love this book the way it is, the story is a total wretch and what I mean to that is if I were to become a heroine and to poss Wow thumbs up for Tahereh Mafi on her debut. This is brilliantly and excellently written; the characters are perfectly made, Juliette Ferrars, Warner and Adam Kent. The last series I read with a dystopic theme was the Hunger games, but of course I couldn't compare this book to it. I love this book the way it is, the story is a total wretch and what I mean to that is if I were to become a heroine and to possess a superpower I wouldn't want it to be lethal.

Juliette's life has been isolated, it was tragic and sad. Everything has been taken away from her, she was avoided, her touch is lethal.In the first few pages when Mafi was excellently describing Juliette's environment(the asylum and the reestablishment), well I don't know if excellent is the right word, the way Tahere described the thoughts of Juliette with millions of metaphor,I found it witty and amusing but too much of it made it boring. Well Tahere is good at jargon, similes, metaphors, but I'm the type of reader who easily gets bored whenever an author consumes 2 pages just describing how a miserable girl feels about being Isolated. So yeah, that's the only thing I can complain.

I was accustomed of being observant of what I read, and in this book even though some reviews say that this is not dystopia but a romance, I want to prove them wrong. I know this book is conveying messages for our government and to the rest of humanity. So speaking of that, it is extra awesome that fictional books nowadays are also a way of sending messages to people.

Juliette-- she already became my heroine even though I haven't seen more from her in this book. She epitomized bravery, passionate, loving, ardent, philanthropic, intelligent and beautiful heroine. She managed to be rational despite of the isolation and the yearning for human attraction. Her character was not someone who expects that there are better things that will happen, who was futuristic but apprehensive at the same. What occupying most of her brain was the question why her touch is lethal, because everything seemed to be rooted from it. So don't expect that there would be a twist at the end because it will all come back down to the mystery of Juliette's touch being lethal.

Adam Kent-- I am pretty sure there is nothing less than perfection that you can incorporate with that name. Adam is sexy, intelligent, brave, protective in all facets rolled at once. He became the source of Juliette's bravery, their relationship that oozes a high intensity romance, I just couldn't put this book down. Speaking of romance, if you can picture them making out I'm quiet sure that you don't forget that Juliette's touch is lethal. So how's that? read the book and witness the magic of their love. I want to say more of him and Juliette but I guess that will include spoilers, so I should stop there.

Next is Warner, just like Adam he's also sexy but dangerous, psychotic,sick, evil, selfish and manipulative. I was just surprised with the twist that Mafi put in this novel, a twist in the end that includes Warner. He anticipated me so much, so much the he holds the twist. I became even more excited of what he can and will do in unravel me and what his role will be in Juliette and Adam's life. Also there are some parts of this book where by chance Warner's character cloyed me, now I am kind of torn between Adam and Warner's character with who to love and to hate.

So yeah, I'll end it there. This is Mafi's first ever book, well too awesome for a first book and so much had happened already, but I can't say it's fast-paced, it just enough for readers not to fumble in each flip of pages. Tahere can write! to be honest this is the story you wouldn't want to settle for tomorrow, I slept around 4 am just to finish this. And now I can not be more excited to start unravel me. I actually skip the 'destroy me' since I don't want to hear anything Warner has to say yet, but well if I get time for him, I'll read it. So guys give this novel a chance, read this, this is an awesome one :) ...more

Ok so unlike most people, I liked this far better at the beginning. I grew weary of Mafi's writing style about 2/3 of the way through the book.

It seemed like the hyperbolic melodramatic tone was applicable during her captivity, but not once she's out. The story was engaging, but I felt like I was forcing my way through the writing to get to the story.

I'm not sure I'm going to continue with the series. This is definitely a book to pick up at the library to read rather than purchase. It's also com ...more
