”’I’ve been waiting for you a long time, Alina. You and I are going to change the world.”
Leigh Bardugo is one of those authors that seems untouchable. Ever since her Six of Crows duology came out, I have yet to come across one person who doesn’t like that duology. ‘Her writing is impeccable,’ they say. ‘It’s so beautiful,’, they say. Short Review:
This didn't really live up to the hype as much as i wanted it too.
I loved the storyline. I figure something was special about the MC from the start, but i didn't image it as big as it was!
The little love triangle was eh. I love Mal thou, so totally team Mal, for now :)
The whole caste system set in this book was a bit confusing. I don't remember which colors went with what so i kinda just jumped over that when it was talked about!

This book starts out very slow! I almost DNFed it. The second half gets better and I enjoyed the ending. Still it shows it's age in some of the tropes it plays with in uninteresting ways. It was alright. Doesn't really stand out as particularly good, but not bad either. I'll probably read the rest of the series eventually.

I adore this book. Shadow and Bone is a great adventure book. It's the kind of book you'll get lost in. The guys of Shadow and Bone are addicting. They seem real, even though it's fiction. I love the character development this set of characters go through. At the end of the book it clearly shows the growth the characters have gone through. Their's a certain quality Shadow and Bone has that sets it apart from other books.
