Shelves: 2014-reads, suprised-me, young-adult, dystopia

Me reading this book;

Sometimes it felt boring, sometimes it was confusing (OK MOST OF THE TIME), sometimes it made you go 'WTF is going on?' but mostly it was a fun-ride. Definitely not what I expected but it was a OK book.

Not many things happen in this one so prepare yourself! Action? What action? This book is about two people trying to survive. There are aliens (I wish they were used better and more. Some unexplained (yup, dont expect logic) events happen. Character development happens a littl ...more

I haven’t listened to an audiobook in years. I am so happy that I decided to listen to These Broken Stars. I’ve heard a lot of great things about this book, and after having listened to it on audio, I would suggest anyone wanting to read this book to listen to it. It was absolutely bone chilling listening to everything that was going on and getting caught up in the amazing atmosphere.

Detailed Review: This book was completely new to me. The writing style, the characters, the setting- which was in hyperspace, seemed foreign to me.

But strangely, I still liked it. Loved it even. I think it's the setting itself that intrigued me and also the story. The storyline seemed simple, with a rich girl who was the daughter of the owner of a spaceship falling in love with a war hero, which is basically like the high ...more

Absolutely brilliant.My initial thoughts when I first discovered These Broken Stars was: That sounds similar to Under the never sky by Veronica Rossi: Dual POVs with two personalities that clashes, A female character who's accustomed to a life of luxury and privileges who discover a whole new world...And to be honest, that's exactly why I picked up that book. okokokokok I LOVED this book ssoooooo much. it was hypnotic always kept me guessing and throughout most of the book i was internally screaming for them just hurry up and kiss and love each other. because we all know they did/

I thought the story was good. Tarver was really easy to love. Lilac was a pain in the behind, but i guess it can be justified. She was raised a spoiled brat. She definitely grows up when the ship they were on crashes. Tarvor definitely helped her grow up. She could've used a few slaps, but he sure as hell didn't treat her like a princess. She had to toughen up a bit.
