I'd like to do 3.5 because while this is one of the best "public" approaches to the problem of medicine and culture there were still problems in theory. Over all though the book is really quite excellent. Fadiman is a good writer with a gift for presenting history and narrative in a lovely form. The complications that arise when two cultures meet is grossly interesting and heartbreaking. As a mom to a child who has epilepsy is where I found some cracks.
