Shelves: fantasy

A book that had been on my TBR, and a tattered paperback on my bookshelf at that, for as long as four years now. A book, that has been recommended countless times, and one I don't know how many times I've almost picked up over the years.
Well, I got to it finally, my first Abercrombie, and fairly enjoyed it too, which is saying a lot because this is like the first fantasy book I've really enjoyed reading in the last couple of years. Not saying the ones I tried out were bad or anything, it is just ...more

Say one thing for Logen Nine Fingers... say he is easily one of the best characters in literary history!

I really struggled not to change my original star rating from three to four stars because on my reread this book really popped for me.

This is the essential grimdark fantasy series. If you like your fantasy twisted then this is the absolute best of the best. The world is darkly awesome, the characters are deeply disturbed and everyone breaks the stinking first law at one point or the other.
