What Members Thought
Tolstoy is a marvelous storyteller. I really enjoyed this translation/book. I felt the language really flowed (all imagery was in tact) and it was just really well-written. You really feel sympathy with Anna, yet at the same time, the decisions she makes is no less aggravating leading to her final demise.
This book was probably unique 150 years ago. Probably talking endlessly about the nitty gritty of marriage, about workers rights and about having affairs wasn't done. To me this didn't live up to the hype.
