At the beginning of Ashes we meet Alex (Alexandra). Alex is not your normal seventeen year old girl; she hasn’t’ been hanging out with friends on the weekends or going out on dates, instead for the past two years she’s been spending her time going to the hospital for rounds of Chemo and Radiation and getting pumped full of experimental drugs that aren’t even working against the tennis ball sized tumor on her brain.
