I absolutely loved this book. And, I do admit that I cried near the end when Adam was begging Mia to "stay", right before she "returned". That was really touching.

A beautiful book but not the tear-jerker I thought it would be. Most of the reviews I read mentioned that I should have a tissue box nearby from this novel but I never really felt it. It was very sad and heartwarming, but I just never got the chance to get connected to the characters. Even Mia was hard to relate to, though some things seemed reminiscent of my own life it just wasn't enough. I could have been longer and had more of the fluff in it that would have made me cry. People aren't kidding when they say to have tissues when you read this book! If I Stay is a beautiful book about choices, love, life, and death-and what happens when they all combine together. Mia has to deal with a lot in this book-her boyfriend, Adam, is a successful musician in Oregon...and she might be accepted to Julliard..in NYC.
