If you've been following my blog for a while then you've probably guessed that I'm not a HUGE fan of witch/voodoo/warlock/magic type of books. I don't know what it is about them that steers me away but that's the way it has always been. It was a pretty good debut novel. I honestly can't remember the last time I read a paranormal urban fantasy, so it was nice not to read high fantasy and/or contemporary. But I also thought there could have been more development on the second-tier characters. I know this is only the first book and it looks like we're going to get a lot more on Paige in the next book, but I think it could have done with more character development.
