I've had this book in my possession for well over a year - friends who have read it have near-begged me to 'get going', to finally crack the cover, but something held me back. I'd convinced myself 'We Need to Talk About Kevin' would be gory, uneccesarily crude, a morose, after-the-fact tale of a mother's hindsight into her own child's haunting actions.
