[very slight and somewhat abstract spoilers]
This book made me think of Romeo and Juliet. No wait hear me out! In our time today if we read a Romeo and Juliet-esque book, we can root for the couple, hope that true love finds a way past social constraints and they can all live happily ever after. When it was first performed in the 16th century everyone watching the play knew from the moment the two met that they were doomed. In the same way even through the beautiful parts of the book and the stag ...more

This book left me speechless- it made me laugh ,it made me burst in tears and have an unexplainable anger at the universe.
The characters in this book made me wish they were real- Augustus, the one legged boy,and also Hazel, who is the most down to earth Cancer character I ever read about!
Yet,there is something that throughout this brilliantly written book pissed me off- I don't believe you should blame someone who broke up with a very sick person,or someone who has a disability, especially at hi ...more

I enjoyed this, read it quickly and wanted to finish it. However, it wasn't as good as i was expecting due to alot of hype, however the characters were lovely and well written.

This book is incredible. I'll admit that I blanched a little when I first read the description, and wrote it off as a bit of a stereotypical, Nicholas Sparks-esque tale for tweens, but given how much I loved Looking for Alaska, I decided to give John Green the benefit of the doubt, and I am so incredibly pleased I did, because The Fault in our Stars completely blew me away; my favourite book in a long, long time.

It lived up (and beyond) the hype. Not only did I love the characters (love in the present tense), but I absolutely adored John green's writing. It was so honest, not too adult nor juvenile and it really made me think and appreciate my life and others' lives more. Hazel and Augustus really captured my heart and I can't wait to reread this book over and over again throughout my life. Okay? Okay.
