The first and last 150 pages of this book were 5 star the middle 400 were 3 star so I'm going to split the middle here. A very gothic and atmospheric mystery but it was definitely bogged down with too much detail in the middle section. It was also a shame that the girl's part as a narrator was reduced as the story went on as it was nice to read about a strong father/daughter relationship.
