I read this book not to long ago, but as one of my favorite series, I had to re-read the entire series. Katniss is a strong character who loves her family more than most people probably do. I literally cry every time that she volunteers for Prim. I just love the devotion to her family. Peeta is an interesting character. I prefer him in the books rather than to the movie. The first book was phenomenal. Without a doubt one of the most well-written, well thought out, and original story lines I have ever read. The way the author creates this world of Panem: the Capital and its districts, how the government works, and the execution of the hunger games is so inspiring. I applaud Collins for being able to come up with something so different and being able to have it make so much sense to the reader. And the characters!
