I can't believe I waited twelve years to read House Rules, but I am SO glad I finally got around to it! This is definitely one of her best novels. I loved all the different perspectives, including Jacob's, and learning more about Asperger's syndrome. I also liked all the lists that Jacob kept sharing.

There were so many nuances throughout this novel and I kept questioning what really happened, even though I had some hunches of my own. The level of detail and the genuine dialogue brought the stor

Since I am a Jodi Picoult fan, it isn't surprising that I liked this book. Since I am very interested in special education, it isn't surprising that I liked this book. I very much enjoyed the latest from my favorite author. I got sucked into the story and the characters right away and the book kept me guessing until the end.

I love most Picoult books, and this one wasn't one of those few exceptions. Court case with difficult issue at its heart, told from multiple perspectives -- an excellent book. My only disappointment was in that I was able to figure out the ending before Jodi got there -- but that may just be a hazard of reading a lot of her books. On the upside, even after figuring it out, I still enjoyed the remainder of the story as it unfolded. ...more

As with Picoult's other books, I found this one a compelling read. It gave me greater insight into the realities of living with Asperger's and the ripple effect it has on a family than nonfiction. While Picoult does leave you hanging in the end, I prefer to write my own ending anyway!

I just love Jodi Picoult writing style. I learn so much about the topic every time I read one of her books. This one is on the topic of Asperger's--about autism. She does so much research that enhances her stories. Can't wait to read the next one. ...more
