This felt incendiary on purpose. It got so deep into the weeds that I forgot this was a murder mystery (which is really something, because there were so many murders, shootings, and attempted murders.) The beginning was so intriguing but the rest just completely went off the rails, using a lot of hot button words that make it cringey and hard to read.
