now see, i once said that Divergent is the best of all time, but this book and series, is so much better[i'm pretty sure the sigil of Erudite will be on the third book's cover BTW: I foresee it and ye shall all pay me $5 if i correct]

'Tis not whether the ending and manchee's death, murder i shall say, damaged thy heart. Broke to the point of no way to cure. But 'tis the truth and reasoning I shall find out in the rest of the series that i set my mind on this being the best of all time. Compared to KNLG, divergent is now third. MR/HG is now 2nd.

Manchee's murder was heartbreaking, eye watering, and the cause of many to not dare read further. The thing that got me the most, was that i read his fatality the moment i woke up.

I opened my eyes in me auntie's house; morning had just struck and my cousin was making many a ruckus. Nine fourty-five I believe the clock had said. New Year's Day, snow reflecting the sun's beautiful shine. It was truely a great day: nothing could ruin it, or so I htought. Then, i sat up on the couch which i had spent the night on, and grabbed my book, turned to two pages before chapter thirty-one and began to read. I daren't believe the shadow of Todd when he says, "He'll kill Manchee." And so, I read on to The Wicked Are Punished. The plan working greatly.
Until Manchee jumps off the boat and russles with Aaron. The horrible, evil not-at-all-saint-of-God Aaron. The one who many a-tried to kill Viola and Todd. Then, the boat is unable to fight the current and: "The girl or the dog Todd."..."The choice is yers."....
"I'm sorry Manchee!"....
"Todd?"
Aaron wrenches his arms and there's a CRACK and a scream and a cut-off yelp...

When Todd fell into the overwhelming inadvoidable blackness, so did: my day ruined. The once perfect morning destroyed and will probably never return.

Later that day[er..night]:

There's the ending. Viola almost dead, no one in Haven when they get there. A voice saying, "Well, since you asked so nicely."....
[very ending]"Welcome," says the Mayor,"to New Prentisstown."

My fingers clenched up(just as they did when i thought of how to describe my anger, hovering over the keyboard] and I really wanted to unread the book and punch Davy Prentiss in the face. Kick him in the crotch(whether he has man parts or not). Slit his throat with the knife Ben gave Todd. And finally, shoot him with his own gun.

I hope y'all liked me review as much as i hated to write about the ruined perfect day and angering ending. (hide spoiler)]

Wilf is amazing. He doesn't care that Todd and Vi lied to him about their identities or nuttin'. Hildy and Tam are friendly as knives. They'll welcome you into their home like long lost friends, but the second you threaten them: you may not live to the see light of day. Gods that's so cliche. ...more
