Okay, so here it goes. First, I love Abbi Glines. She has a talent. I can read her books for hours and not even realize it. For a mom of three who runs a school of over 200 preschoolers and has serious ADD that is a HUGE compliment! Okay..on to the review.

Yes, Blair and Rush changed in this book, but that's what love will do to you. There were parts I loved and parts I scratched my head and had a things that make you go HMMM moment.

In the end of Never too Far Blair is angry and her walls are understandably high. However, time heals wounds and love conquers all. Part of love come forgiveness. Blair is young and her emotions get the best of her from time to time, but when she realizes she misunderstood or jumped to conclusions she's mature enough to rethink her position. That's graceful and those are the qualities that Blair is constantly praised for. She has a gentle, loving and forgiving spirit. Don't confuse her "I'm never gonna love again" mind set at the end of book one as WHO she really was/is. She was hurting and like many of us, we put up walls until we can cope and work through our issues. It doesn't mean it becomes a personality trait. I liked the way Abbi walked us through their journey. It seemed very real. Rush did keep messing up and is very self centered. He never had to worry about health insurance or beds. He grew with these mistakes. I could see progress as I read. The only time I found myself really angry and really ready to yell at Blair "LEAVE his ass" was the way he treated her after the boating accident. Seriously, lame.
The sex scenes were HOT, Abbi didn't let us down in this department. The ending felt a little rushed and I was definitely left wanting more and I'm glad to hear we'll get more. Overall, I enjoyed it. I found myself attached to Blair and Rush, that is always a sign of good read.

* My only "disappointment" really began in book one when Rush comes inside Blair without her consent, I was equally disappointed with Blair blaming herself for his action. Not acceptable anyway you look at it. Sorry, had to get that off my chest. Once again, I would have given this book 5 starts, but I take one away for this particular scenario. ...more

I loved this second book in the series and I continue to love Rush, Blaire, Woods, Bethy, and Jimmy and dislike Nan just as much and was not happy with Grant during certain parts of the book. I hated when Blaire had those moments when she felt all alone, like she had no more family. I was glad she finally told Cain how she felt and how much it hurt her when he did not support her all of those years ago. I was so happy when Blaire was surprised by a special guest. I could not believe that horn do I loved this second book in the series and I continue to love Rush, Blaire, Woods, Bethy, and Jimmy and dislike Nan just as much and was not happy with Grant during certain parts of the book. I hated when Blaire had those moments when she felt all alone, like she had no more family. I was glad she finally told Cain how she felt and how much it hurt her when he did not support her all of those years ago. I was so happy when Blaire was surprised by a special guest. I could not believe that horn dog Cain, could not even go one night without being laid but as he laid behind his recent conquest he is on the phone making certain statements to Blaire, so glad she is done with him. I hate how much Rush is hurting but at the same time I am so glad that the author did not have him sleeping around again to bury his sadness or to try and get over her, that made my day, too many books do this. I hated how Grant was defending Nan to Rush, she is horrible and I don't care if they are sleeping together or not she does not deserve to be defended. I loved Blaire and Rush back together, at first it was so hard, Rush's heart was breaking and Blaire was so cold. I kept thinking, when is she going to stop blaming Rush for what happened with her father, that should all be on her father, not Rush. I loved how Woods was constantly standing up for Blaire to Nan and how he was watching out for her. The time in the bathroom was hot, Blaire being a horny pregnant woman makes her so funny. A new character was introduced in this book but I don't know what she added to the story. I love how Rush responded to finding out about the baby, not thrilled how he found out but....I loved when he told her he would love her even if she got as big as a whale. I was glad when Rush finally had enough from Nan, she took it too far when she called Blaire a terrible name but later in the book something happens and he is then regretting it but I don't think he should be. During this same time I hate how Rush is acting but at least it is only one part of the book, that is one thing I will say that I did not like was how many times I had to read that Blaire was going to leave, she couldn't get in between him and his family, she didn't belong to his circle, it got old quick and every time she overreacted poor Rush was always on his knees apologizing or trying to find out what was wrong. I was happy when she finally just accepted that they belonged together and she allowed herself to be happy. I will say it was nice hearing the whole true story about Blaire's mother. When Rush finally gets to go to the doctor's with Blaire, it was a perfect ending, can't wait to read more about them. ...more
