He’s A Brute by Chloe Liese follows Nairne, a Scottish student studying at MIT and Zed, golden boy of Boston and involved with the city’s underworld. Nairne secures a spot as a public health consultant on his board and the two take an immediate disliking to one another. They verbally spar and yet they both find that they are each completely affected by the other. Nairne’s time is limited in the States until she graduates and the two secure an agreement: no strings, no feelings, no love.

✨ Thank you @chloe_liese for sending an ARC in exchange for an honest review ✨

#minireview 📖 He’s a Brute is a solid debut from Chloe Liese! I’ll be honest, I didn’t even read the full synopsis to know I wanted to try it, a steamy romance between a soccer star and a female bioengineer? Sold 🙋🏻‍♀️

I really liked how unapologetic Nairne was! She was such a sassy character. A major aspect of her character is introduced about 20% into the book, I didn’t love how late this was mentioned. This is my pe

This book was a solid 4.25 stars and I can't wait for the next book in the series!

This story follows Nairne as she navigates her way through life following a sports injury. She's use to being an intense athlete that defies all the odds so after her accident she's decided to try for a different, more controlled way of life. Since she left Europe she's focused on her research (she's a bioengineer) and that's left little room for anything else. She's is almost done with her degree at MIT when she's

I love supporting independent artists and self employed people. After my years in financial management, I have so much respect for the tenacity one must have to succeed in this lane. 👏🏻 After reading several reviews on HE’S A BRUTE, I was more than excited to dive in to the story and downloaded a copy from Kindle Unlimited. Now, typically I am not pulled toward “mobster” stories but after reading the synopsis I didn’t get that vibe. Our hero, Zed, is trapped in a cycle he doesn’t agree with due ...more

STEAM! I’ve been reading a lot of romance lately but low on the steam radar. This was great debut!
.
The main characters are Nairne and Zed. Zed is definitely would be considered an alpha male. Even though he did have some jerk-ish moments I found myself really liking him. Nairne is one badass woman. She is smart, independent, and sassy!

Told in dual perspectives we really get to know them. It does have some mafia aspects so there is some danger involved, one that I assume we’ll get to read more a

There’s a lot going on in this one. You’ve got a fiery red headed Scottish MIT bioengineering student and an Irish-Italian pro soccer player who is also in the mafia. It has a little bit of sports, a little science, and a little mafia without being overwhelmingly one or the other. Honestly, this is my first mafia romance and that aspect confused me a bit, but I was still able to enjoy the book.

I loved that the characters in this book are well rounded. So many times you can describe a ch

I think my favorite part of this book is that the heroine is "handicapped". How refreshing to read about "real" people. And if you're looking for a book with some steam this one brings it! While this is described as a "mafia" read I didn't feel that too much time was devoted to that(not a big mafia fan over here). Overall, I love stories that are unique and fast paced and this book fits those 2 criteria. I cannot wait to read book 2. ...more

He's a Brute is a steamy romance with great character development, a feisty heroine, and an irresistible bad boy.

I was shocked when I realized that this was Chloe Liese's debut. Her writing style was great and she was able to leave me wanting more.

When I began reading this book, I was excited because the blurb was very intriguing. The beginning was a little slow for me. The characters, Nairne and Zed, did have chemistry but I didn't feel like the story would progress as it did. A few pages bef

I read this book in one day flat. It was packed full with drama and steam. I loved Nairne’s character. It’s so cool to have a female scientist hell bent on actually helping the world. The banter between her and Zed was clever. I was really rooting for them to make it work! This one ends on a cliffhanger but thankfully book two just came out yesterday! ⁣

Both He’s A Brute and She’s A Spitfire are available for free through Kindle Unlimited or for $2.99! ⁣

If I was able to just use one word ... WOW! And use one emoji it would be ... 🔥

This debut novel, He’s a Bruit by Chloe Liese had everything a good romance should entail; a witty, strong female lead full of sass, a sexy athlete, philanthropist and slightly moody male, lots of banter between the two, little language/dirty talk and LOTS of steam.

Nairne is originally from Scotland but is currently a student at MIT. She is selected as a new board member to serve as a public health attendant. Zed is

Thanks to the author for sending me a free copy.

Warning - this one is GRAPHIC. Think 50 shades graphic - doesn't bother me, but definitely not for the faint of heart.

This story had a lot of promise but I struggled to connect to the characters. I liked both of them, and obviously wanted them to end up together, but I didn't really "feel" much towards them. I very much enjoyed the representation of a physically handicapped character & I liked the way said character was written about. In terms of t

This is the story of Zed and Nairne. This book may not be for everyone. It’s definitely got steam but there is still a great story, it isn’t 100% steam. I loved the beginning where Zed and Nairne are enemies but there’s something there that keeps drawing them to each other. I would have enjoyed some more of the enemies to lovers being drawn out. Zed is so tough but you can tell how much he loves Nairne. I love Nairne’s character. She is a woman with a physical disability but she doesn’t let that ...more

He’s a Brute ⚽️

You know when within the first 3 pages a line of a book says “My breast’s tingled in heat” it’s gonna be a nice steamyyy romance.

I absolutely loved this book. It was like 50 Shades but with an even stronger independent (and we can’t forget with a physical handicap) female that KICKS ASS and knows her worth.

The romance scenes were STEAMY and I loved that it showed someone with a physical handicap that is able to be a sexual powerhouse.

I also fell in love with Zed because he had a

Oof! What an amazing debut from Chloe Liese. This book is an incredible ride! Packed with emotion, struggles with obligations, riddled with wit & intellect, this was an amazing read I couldn’t put down.

Sassy badass super nerd heroine? Yes!
Bad boy mafia prince & athlete? Yes!
Super hot chemistry? Yes!

No slow burn here, this one dives right in. Zed & Nairne were an interesting pair and I loved how bits and pieces of their lives unfolded as the story went on.

If you are down for some major steam, a b

Happy publication day to Chloe Liese's He's a Brute. I am so very fortunate to have been sent a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Chloe Liese!

He's a Brute is Chloe Liese's debut novel, and it's the first book in the Tough Love series. He's a Brute tells the story of Zed and Nairne. Nairne is a brilliant scientist whose ambitions lie with making healthcare more affordable and accessible. Its why she takes a job at a nonprofit where she just so happens to run into "Ado

First things first: There’s a major point in He’s a brute that you won’t find anywhere. The heroine’s “phisicality” (I’m not going into specifics, because the way it’s thrown at the reader is actually clever, imho, glimpsed but not revealed until the hero finds out) is something I’ll praise forever, because I’ve never seen it in any romance. It means being inclusive, diverse, and open-minded all in one place, and I’m all for it.

He's a brute was a sweet fast paced romance. When I first read the synopsis I was skeptical of how mafia/soccer player could be a "thing" but Chloe pulled it off beautifully. The mafia aspect was really interesting and how Zed was pulled into a life he never wanted. I think it made this book really stand out in my mind. His family is charmingly Italian with boisterous personalities and huge hearts.

Nairne was such a joy of a character. With hair to match her fiery personality. She's strong and fe

I thought this was an amazing start to the Tough Love series! Chloe seriously hit it out of the park with these characters. Nairne & Zed are both so independent and strong, so when they meet (and immediately clash), you know that things are about to get wild ... in the most delightful way. I absolutely loved their chemistry, and I loved the steamy moments. I'm so excited to continue with this series & see where this goes! ...more
