I struggled to find an appropriate rating for this book - I think 4 stars would have been a little generous, but 3 stars wasn't quite enough, so I'd say this was 3.5 for me. The novel was enjoyable overall, however it was definitely more of a slow burn as it took time for the storyline to develop. Having read other books by Samantha Young, I was expecting a fair bit of steam, but I actually found this a little lackluster in the steam department.
