DNFed at 14%. Why:
The MC prior to the start of the book has led her stepbrother to believe that once, when they were drunk, he "groped" her "by accident." He did no such thing. But she allows him to believe this so she'll have "leverage." Wow. Just...wow. No. The argument that women who've been harassed aren't to be believed, because women lie? Women twist the truth for their own personal gain? Yeah. That's on display here. The MC misleads her stepbrother into believing he sexually harassed her. ...more

Pucked by Helena Hunting follows Violet and Alex. And friends let me tell you...it is WILD. But in the best possible way 😜 - Violet has grown up around hockey, her step-brother Buck plays in the NHL after all. One night she begrudgingly agrees to go to one of his first games after he’s traded to the Blackhawks. It’s there during the game that she locks eyes with one of his teammates Alex.
Alex Waters is captain of the team and a notorious womanizer. When he begins talking to Violet after the game ...more

Happy Reading, friends!
I listened to this one on Audible Escape.
Beavers, books & monster cock with a slight side helping of hockey. That basically sums this book up.
I can totally see why people are obsessed with this series! Violet is fun & sticks her foot in her mouth at every chance & is so socially inappropriate. Likely, we would be friends!
Alex is great too. I love their interactions ...more

Pucked is the first book in the Pucked series by Helena Hunting and wow, is all I have to say. I have heard this Pucked series was great. I had this first book as part of a compilation of romance novels in Hilariously Ever After. One sitting was all it took for me to read it. Poor choice to start before going to bed..
“He saw her, like the sun, even without looking.
Oh God. He’s quoting Tolstoy and touching me. I’m done for.”

I freaking LOVED Pucked! Helena Hunting writes my absolute favorite rom-coms and this is no different. I was laughing out loud from the very beginning, and even during the most insane moments I was so into the story. I can understand how not everyone would love the tone this book has, but I was 100% into it! 4 stars! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun light hearted rom-com with lots of steam!
